Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions

C&MA CHILD Protection Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions (CW/S/I3)

This organization was selected by the Social Welfare Department to participate in the "Pilot Scheme on Social Work Services for Pre-primary Institutions" from 2020 to 2024, providing school-based social work services to 8 kindergartens/nursery schools. Through casework and group work, support is offered to pre-primary children and families in need, enhancing their problem-solving capabilities, strengthening parental roles and functions, and promoting positive and healthy psychological development. Until 2024, the Social Welfare Department will fully implement the district-based "Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions ", and our organization has successfully bid and been assigned to provide school-based social work services in the Hong Kong Southern District, starting August 1, 2024. The service team is named " C&MA CHILD Protection Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions”.

 

 

Service Objectives

  • Early identification and provision of assistance to pre-primary children and their families that have welfare needs 
  • Provide assistance to young children who experience educational, social, behavioural and emotional difficulties.
  • Provide assistance to parents with needs in parenting (skills) improving and family relationship toward the goal of fostering harmony in their family.

Scope of Service

  • To provide professional counselling and referral service to for children and their families. 
  • To organize parenting education groups and talks
  • To organize relevant thematic activities for strengthening family relationships
  • To provide professional consultations for teaching staff and parents.
  • To provide crisis management

Kindergarten and nursery school students, their parents and teachers
