History
Our centre started serving the community in 1984 originally as Christian & Missionary Alliance Lam Tim Church Social Centre for the Elderly. In April 2003, it became an elderly neighbourhood centre. Then in 2010 it relocated to Yau Lai Estate with the name changed to Christian & Missionary Alliance Yau Lai Neighbourhood Elderly Centre. In addition to providing users a comfortable place to rest, the centre also offers preventive, developmental, and support services so that they can enjoy community life and cultivate together a spirit of self-help and mutual assistance.

Please bring the following to the centre to apply: your HKID card, annual membership fees, and smart card fees (first-time applicants).
*No joining fee for Carer membership
Withdrawal
Please contact our staff and return the membership card for deregistration of membership.
News
2021年7月份中心消息：
1. 2021年7月1日(星期四)為香港特別行政區成立紀念日公眾假期，中心暫停開放，請各會員留意！
2. 2021年月6月23日至10月9日 香港專業進修學院學生到本中心進行部份時間實習工作，他們分是黃祖儀姑娘、阮巧雯姑娘，請大家多多指教！
3. 中心文員徐麗婷姑娘於2021年5月22日至8月27日期間放產假，在此，祝福徐姑娘身體健康、家庭幸福、主恩滿溢。
4. 踏入雨季及颱風季節，中心提提大家參加活動時要留意惡劣天氣安排。如活動舉行前2小時天文台已發出三號及以上風球或紅色、黑色暴雨警告，該節活動將會暫停或延期。實體或視像活動均依照以上安排。如 有疑問請致電中心查詢。
5. 由於新型冠狀病毒疫情反覆，政府暫未宣佈全面開放中心服務。現時，在有足夠防護措施下，中心已恢復有限度預約的實體小組或活動，並會繼續提供網上服務及維持緊急服務。 此外，由於中心偶到服務仍然暫停，中心計劃逢雙月份(例如6月、 8月、10月……) 將月訊郵寄或派入信箱予各會員，讓大家能掌握中心服務資訊。在其他月份，會員可以透過以下方法獲得中心最新資訊：
1)請會員安排時間到中心辦公時間領取，如果中心仍未正式開放，請按門鐘，向同事索取月訊或諮詢任何中心服務；
2)會員亦可以上網瀏覽中心服務，網址：yaulai.cmasshk.org

每個「里」好家庭都是由 2人或以上為單位，以家庭形式關顧區內獨居或體弱的長者，促進和諧家庭關係，讓獨居或有需要長者感受家庭溫暖，培養區內鄰舍守望相助的精神，促進社區共融。此外，「里」好家庭會向社區、團體、學校等，宣揚關愛長者、鄰里支援、友善社區的重要訊息。
計劃時段：2018年7月至2020年1月
每戶家庭義工獲配對2戶長者，在計劃期間提供以下服務：
（一）每星期一次電話慰問
（二）每月一次家居探訪
（三）節日慶祝：簡單整理和佈置家居
（四）節日慶祝：與長者一同到中心享用團年飯
（五）戶外遊覽

中心獲清水灣鄉村俱樂部資助推動計劃，訓練社區義工為「陽光大使」，協助有需要及合資格之長者提供家居清潔服務，填補現時社區上的服務空隙，改善服務使用者的生活質素。
中心運用鄰舍層面的資源，招募及培訓區內人士，為55位有特別需要長者提供服務。
計劃除了清潔服務外，工作員為有需要之長者跟進家居環境及安全，如：申請維修／物資津貼家庭電器、改善家居環境、輪候長者護理服務等。
中心在地區層面鼓勵長者積極參與，共建友善社區。中心與地區團體合辦「觀．耆友善聯席」，由長者代表參與其中，倡導長者參與社區及政策討論。其中「耆望聽取」行動，以「長者休憩設施全面睇」為主題，希望就長者的各項休憩設施給予意見。
另一方面，中心亦舉行多次「我有權投」，成為一個平台收集長者意見，既可改善中心提供服務的質素，又可以提升長者公民意識，鼓勵長者關心社區事務保持長者與社會聯繫。
