Christian and Missionary Alliance Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions

Introduction

Beginning in 8/2020, we were selected by the Social Welfare Department to participate in the "Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions" and provide stationing social workers at 8 kindergartens. Through case work and small groups, we provide needed support to students and their families to elevate their ability to solve family issues and strengthen the roles and functions of parents, fostering positive and healthy emotional development of their children.

Service Objectives

• Early identification and provision of assistance to pre-primary children and their families that have welfare needs 
• Provide assistance to young children who experience educational, social, behavioural and emotional difficulties.
• Provide assistance to parents with needs in parenting (skills) improving and marital relationship toward the goal of fostering harmony in their family.

Scope of Service

• To provide professional counselling and referral service to for children and their families. 
• To organize parenting education groups and talks
• To organize relevant thematic activities for strengthening family relationships
• To provide professional consultations for teaching staff and parents.
• To provide crisis management
